  24.         One afternoon I was sorting through a collection of well over
  25.         300 PPE's and other add-on's I decided I was tired of looking at
  26.         other people's programs.  As I thought I realized that all these
  27.         other programs came "close" to what I wanted them to do, none of
  28.         them were actually 100% compatible with my desires.  Then I really
  29.         began to kick myself in the backside!  I have had the PCBoard
  30.         software for over 2 years and I had never even opened the book
  31.         about the PPL.  So I added the new PPE files to my collection
  32.         in my BBS file areas that numbers in the thousands and sat down
  33.         in front of "The Net" (for the 17th time this month on HBO) and
  34.         started on page one of the PPL manual.  Five minutes later my wife
  35.         calls me from work and tells me that we're going on a 4 hour drive
  36.         to Seattle to see her family (who will be here in 3 weeks, but she
  37.         can't wait that long?!?!?!?!).  To make a long story short by the
  38.         end of the weekend I had finished the whole book, cover to cover
  39.         and still had no idea what the heck I had read.  So I reread the
  40.         book only this time it started to make sence.  3 days later, TA-DA,
  41.         I have written my first PPE.

  43.         About Storm/Page v. 1.00
  44.         ------------------------
  45.         Storm/Page PCBoard SysOp Page Command Replacement PPE is my first
  46.         attempt at writing a PPE, or any other program for that matter.
  47.         Since my daughters middle names are Storm and Page I came up with
  48.         the ingenious idea to name it the "Storm Page".  This eventually
  49.         evolved into "Storm/Page PCBoard SysOp Page Command Replacement" or
  50.         "Storm/Page" for short.  This is the first release of the PPE and
  51.         as such is a little bit rudimentary, HOWEVER, there WILL be many
  52.         upgrades and additions to the PPE as I get more familiar with PPL
  53.         and programing in general.  As it sits now the SysOp can configure
  54.         the screen that the user gets when they invoke the SysOp Page
  55.         command and when the SysOp is unavailable or does not care to answer
  56.         the page.  I am also attempting to make it possible for the SysOp
  57.         to configure the starting and ending times of the page window in
  58.         this release.

  60.         Options and Features of Future Releases

  63.            accomplish it in this release).

  72.         ------------
  73.         1.  Put StrmPage.Zip in its own directory
  74.         2.  UnZip StrmPage.Zip
  75.         3.  Configure PAGE.PCB and NOT.PCB to look and read the way you wish.
  76.             These two screens can be Ansi, PCB or Ascii formatted.
  77.         4.  Edit the STORM.CFG file to fit your bbs.  (The info in this file
  78.             may or may not be used in this release).
  79.         5.  Place the PPE into whatever cmd.lst, display file or wherever else
  80.             you may find a use for it.
  81.         6.  Have a user test it to make sure it works with your system.
